To be sure, I don't want to just diverge a list of of hap-hazzard 'wants' nor to solicit loads of presents from anyone--lest you think that I am greedily prodding you towards a plush, albeit charitable, Christmas venture.
The truth of the matter is that every year we're asked the inevitable, "What do you want for Christmas?" question. And...every year we fail to properly submit our 'wish list'. So alas, this is my feeble attempt to be organized.
It is my hope to comprise a list of possible gift-giving ideas that somehow will reveal/evoke a far less selfish motive and manifest a heart of graditude. After all, people give gifts because it pleases them to make another person happy, felt loved or appreciated--And for that we are truly grateful.
With that in mind, then, we want our families to consider that the listed things aren't what we deem necessaties; only that the items are useful in making our life easier or they serve a specific purpose in our everyday learning.
Also, we understand that, while toys are quite fun, they can contribute to an indolent charactor, build an uncharitable attitude, and breed negligance. Quite often our children are initially excited about their new toys and then all too soon they find the that the toys have lost their charm, then they fall into disregard or get abused. So, in the interest of preserving sanity and orderliness, please give some consideration that we are not in the business of raising sluggards or otherwise faineant children.
We do, however, favor some toys that are engaging, constructive and educational (but are not electronic or require batteries). Toys without a lot of parts are highly preferred.
