Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Kids apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level.
Odyssey of the Mind classes this summer with Ginger Chulack. These classes (both intro and experienced) are part of the Pasadena Educational Foundation's 5-week Summer Enrichment Program at Hamilton and McKinley Schools this year. Kids grades 2-8 can choose 3 different classes that run from 8 am to 12 noon, M-Th, from June 30 through July 31. All for the entire fee of $350 (there are also intro to K-1 for the younger kids). The program is open to all, although PasadenaUSD kids get a slight discount and are the only ones eligible for scholarships.
