Special education and my frustration

As much I love being a part of the "special needs" community, its so frustrating advocating for the individualized education my child needs. Parents all too often acquiesce to the pressures of "The System" instead of fighting for their child's rights! But who wants to be caught up in court with the School District and/or Regional Center agencies all the time? I just want to be understood and left alone, at times! And my daughter is not even officially "school-aged"!!
