life, hair, and tv

i have been so busy! all my free time has been scheduled to oblivion, lately. my life is beginning to slow down to a manageable pace, again. and all this since camp last month! monday night girls group is wrapping up, puppy kindergarten classes have ended, the weather is warmer--the kids have been swimming every day!--and spring break is just around the corner, we've just 'sprung forward', and...my insomnia is back. did i mention to anyone that i'm up with the birds? yep, those beautifully yet incessantly chirpy mocking birds who wake up at the insanely hour of midnight and sing heartedly until about noon, and then hide.

the biggest news around here is that my maria lost about 5 inches of hair. all due to the wiles of a budding beauty-school drop-out--and you know who you are! can i just interject how lovingly patient i am with teenagers? only because i know that eventually it will grow out again,...eventually.

another big change around here is that said beauty, (mentioned above as the victim of haneous act of cruelty by unruly teenager) maria, has forever altered familial quality time spent around the nuturing glow of a "telly". yes, the beloved life of the boob tube has been dimmed. the once prominent figure of american passtime in the warren house has finally said goodbye--never to be replaced by another (for as long as we can stand it, anyway). today, as i write, our television set is sitting out by the curb awaiting the journey into...the twilight zone. it only goes to show that parents should never leave their child/ren unattended with a spraybottle with even a thimble-full of water!
