It was hard to talk with my dad because I was sooo tired. He was open to what I had to say--although I must admit that I wasn't completely, entirely open with him. He listened. But, he did try to enlighten me just as I thought he would (but, I knew and had heard everything he told me, before). I didn't beg to differ. And I didn't clarify my intent to convert. So...we talked...and I feel good that he knows. But he will still need to understand my full intentions...in time...and I know he will be disappointed. But he is not unloving.

My mother, on the other hand. She is a fighter. A lecturer. She will try her best to talk me out of converting...and out of a divorce. She is prideful, sometimes, too. She will hardly believe this is happening to her. But she also loves me. She will have a hard time of it, but I hope to explain my heart to her understanding...acceptance...eventually.

In time, it will all come down to love. They are loving people. I know they love me. So I know that they will not let things become so huge a barrier that love cannot overcome.

Tonight I am reading about Shabbat. What a beautiful tradition. Someday I will observe Shabbat every week. Tonight I will just dream about it.
