Sensational

Current mood: crazy

i just found out the most anticipated news. sensational! my brother-in-law is out of prison! i am so relieved! and his kiddos (my nephews) totally missed him--they keep following him around the house, givin' him hugs and tell him that they are so happy he's home. when i heard that, i thought it was sooo cute. kids are so forgiving and have so much unconditional love! i, unfortunately, don't know the whole story--but, whatever! i love the guy like he was my own brother and i am just happy he is safe at home.

anyway...on that same tonation (is that a word?)--tonight i tried something new. i mean the kind of thing i thought would totally gross me out, but i gave my husband the benefit of the doubt and went for it. he bought these pears, some kind of "asian pears." kinda weird. they have the texture of a juicy jicama. tried them about a week ago and wasn't too crazy about it. in fact i really thought, after a few tries, that i just wouldn't bother trying to even gain an "acquired" taste for them.

but, tonight? yes, i think i will give the pear-and-cheddar-cheese combinations thing a bit of an effort. sam made homemade crackers (so easy and they are better than manufactured). so, why not? well, frankly, because it's just sooo weird and gross by any sense of the imagination. yet, i was more than pleasantly surprised. the savor? sensational! amazingly palatable! enrapturing! try it.
